I have been in VB6 for the past 2 to 3 years. Now I would like to switch to .net part of it. Can any one suggest what to take first whether Visual basic 2008 or any higher version. I want to learn visual basic along with Sql server. Also i have to admit i am brand new to Sql server. While in Vb6 I worked only with MS Access. My idea is to learn VB 2008 with Sql server 2005. Is it right ? or Will it be possible to learn higher versions straight away ... ?
