So im really new to VB. Like just a few days new. I took a class called Enterprising with ASP.NET and were using VB 2010.
The class didnt call for any prerequisites when i took it by turns out from my teacher that web programming is a prerequisite which i do not have.
Im totally lost even after reading the first chapter since the chapter only explains whats new in VB 2010. It is written from a prescriptive of someone with experience already using VB.
This is the assignment: 1) You are going to create a simple page that uses inline coding model with the following requirement:
Create 2 text boxes (labeled first name, last name), one label and one button
The user will enter his/her first name, and last name, then click the button a message with "Hello {firstname lastname} " will be displayed as label
2) Modify the above code using code behind.
I followed the tutorial by Microsoft but it only had one text box, a button and lable. I complied it and it worked fine. But adding two text boxes for first in last name totally confused me. I know this sounds simple to someone who has knowledge but for me right now im lost. :confused: I guess im looking for someone to give me directions on how to complete the assignment. I know once i get used to working in VB that ill get the hang of it once i get the basics down and get the overall jist. Im not looking for answers to just turn in my assignment but i want to learn how to work in VB and be a good developer. My major is computer science and i love it.
My second assignment is this: Create a page that will have a simple calculator that does the four main operations (add, subtract, divide, multiply)
Create 3 text boxes (first number, second number, result) 4 buttons one for each operation
You are going to use JavaScript. Explain callback feature with an example explaining callback. Im completely lost with this one as well.
If there is anyone out there that has some extra time and knows what there doing can you please mentor/tutor me?? Im also taking C# class that im lost in as well. Any consideration for helping me is much, much appreciated. I understand the reading, I get what there talking about but actually putting it in code in VB gets me so lost since they do not explain how to do it.
