How to package a VB program for installation on other PC's

Hi,

I took a couple of VB classes in college so I'm sort of an advanced beginner I guess you would say. What I'm wandering is this:

If I go and download a new program, say adobephotoshop.exe...when I click it, it goes through the process of installing the files into the correct windows folder, places and icon on the desktop, and so on.

How do you package a VB program, so that if or when you decide to give it away or sell it or what have you, it can be compressed into an executable file that will put the program into whatever folder the installer (user) wants to put it in and perhaps set a shortcut in the "All Programs" directory in Windows start menu?

Is there a program that allows this to be done? My instructor said that all I had to do was look in the debug folder and I would find the .exe version of the program that I am building, but this is not the same and would not be acceptable for someone writing a nice program for the intention of distribution.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
